Pause friend and read before you enter here.
This vine clad wall encloses Holy ground.
Herein a mellowed garden dreams away the years.
Steeped in serene, sweet light, and muted sound.
Herein tranquility and peace abide.
For God walks here at cool of evening tide.
Pause friend, and strip from out your heart,
all vanity, all bitterness, all hate.
Quench for this hour the fever of your fears.
Then, treading softly, pass within this gate.
There, where the ancient trees wait, hushed and dim,
May you find God and walk a while with Him

All of the poems on my pages have been written by friends and others or by myself, V W Loveday and are copyrighted material.
Every attempt has been made to credit the proper author. Please don't take them or copy them without the permission of the authors. It's that easy.. :-) Give credit where credit is due and practice Net Etiquette...please. I have been writing poetry for many years. Some poems are the result of personal experience, some come about as a thought or pondering, and others are yet loosely based on the experiences someone might share with me. Some verses are romantic, others are deeply spiritual while yet others are life experiences..either my own or something I've witnessed. This site is large and has a wide variety of poems and verses. Some poems are shared by friends. Thank you for visiting.

I arise in the morning and face a new day of great opportunities and great responsibilities.  Therefore, I shall love the unlovely, be kind to the unkindly and reward the unworthy, for, there may have been times when I was unlovely, times when I was unkindly
and times when I was unworthy.  I shall need the grace of God above to keep my feet on the path that leads through a long and worthy live.
