Flowers for a Friend

You want what? When!
I can not help
but grin
for there are many miles
to walk each day
obligations I must keep
but my friend
if friend you are indeed
you must wait
while I send a flower
to a dear friend
To brighten her day
after the dark
of the passing night
to say "I Care"
and I wish for her
a life full
of joy and all that's right
I could send
a daisy
a nice gift to give
or a carnation
a reflection of creation
an act God
held so very dear
I could send
a tulip
as if to send a kiss
or a rose
to speak of love
which in our daily life
we often miss
Matters not the flower
for in each
there is special power
and this is my current priority
I am sorry, please wait
you're what I will do, well, then.
