The Little Things
Life's Treasure
Love's pleasure
Can be found
in the little things
A touch, a smile
a gentle kiss
The warmth of
a sweet embrace
the twinkle in an eye
sweet sound of laughter
caressing a loving face
Holding hands
talking together
and come what may
Binding together
Not pushing away
enjoying the weather
A walk in the rain
or rest in the shade
sharing the joys
as well as the pain
To know that love
is so very grand
and is felt is the touch
of another's hand
For all of this
the heart longingly sings
So never forget
It's in the little things.

Life is made up, not of great sacrifices or duties, but of little things, in which smiles and kindness and small obligations, given habitually, are what win and preserve the heart and secure comfort.
